‘Because of you’ exhibition launch in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

Because of You
Exhibition Launch, Saturday 17th March 2018, 5-10pm at Zellig

Belles Petite is a Birmingham based artist who currently makes and sells contemporary art work in several galleries and cafes in London, Brighton and Birmingham.

On Saturday 17th March 2018 Claire Griffiths aka Belles Petite will be showcasing her latest pieces in collaboration with the Macmillan Cancer Trust at Zellig in Digbeth, Birmingham’s Creative Quarter.

Entitled “Because of you” the work for this event is inspired by the strength and courage of Claire’s late mother, Margaret Rose who recently tragically lost her sixth month battle with Cancer. Claire has been inspired by her mother’s strength during her most difficult times and is looking to raise money and awareness for Macmillan for their support and as thanks to her mother.

The launch event for the Belles Petite takes place on Saturday 17th March, and will feature live music from local singer-songwriter Barnesy & friends, DJs, drinks and a raffle and auction from which all money will be donated to Macmillan. Prizes have all been kindly donated by local businesses and include two Moseley Folk Festival tickets, a short break on the Black Prince Narrow Boat worth £1,000, plus a selection of prizes from Circus Mash, Mockingbird Cinema, The Night Owl, The Old Crown and two of Limited Edition Belles Petite art prints. A percentage of any art work sold at the event will also be donated to Macmillan.

The event will also be a place to share memories and stories and there will be an opportunity for people to write their own personal message after the words ‘Because of You’. The aim is to help share cherished moments and thank loved ones.

Claire recently organised a Christmas arts fair at the Prince of Wales in Moseley in aid of Macmillan which was a great success raising £700 through a raffle and kind donations. Claire is now hopeful that ‘Because of You’ will be just as successful.

“I hope that as well as raising money and awareness my exhibition will reflect the love and strength that our loved ones have shown and given us and the legacy they leave in helping us to live our lives in their memory.” Claire Griffiths, Belles Petite.
